scales and deposits in the equipment like heat exchangers etc. are

The Codex range of phosphonates offers effective solutions to many

Sequestration
The multivalent metal ions like Calcium, Magnesium, Copper,
Zinc etc. can be complexed with Codex at stoichometric levels,
forming a stable water soluble complex that suppresses
unwanted effects of metal ions in various processes.
Codex inhibits precipitation of scales such as Ferric
Hydroxide, Carbonates, Phosphates and Sulphates of Calcium,
and Hydroxides of Aluminium, Copper and Iron (Ferric).
Therefore,
Codex, offers extended shelf life to the formulations in which
it is used. It maintains its performance in high temperature
processes as well.

Deflocculation
(Dispersion)
Codex gets adsorbed on the growth sites of scalants. This
hinders the growth of crystals from getting cluttered. Due to
superior thermal and hydrolytic stability, Codex helps in
keeping solids in a dispersed form for longer periods compared
to polyphosphates.

Corrosion
Control
Codex
in combination with Zinc Phosphate, Molybdate or Nitrate,
offers synergistically enhanced corrosion inhibition in water
systems compared to any of the individual components. These
combinations also present a definitive alternative to chromate
based systems, which are environmentally unacceptable.

Chlorine Stability
In the
industry, Chlorine is used as an oxidizing agent as well as a
biocide. Codex 661 is stable in systems containing chlorine.
The stability of Codex range of Phosphonates in systems
containing Chlorine can be further improved by a formulation
with Zinc.
