Beauveria bassiana
 

LARVOCEL is broad spectrum biological insecticide made of Beauveria bassiana, a naturally occurring entomopathogenic fungus. Beauveria bassiana is fungus, which causes a disease known as the white muscadine in insects.

LARVOCEL  is used for the control of various inset pest like Bollworms- Heliothis and Spodoptera, fruit borers, root grubs, internodes borers, berry borers, short borers, beetles and tea mosquito bugs.


Mode of Action

Once the spores of Beauveria bassiana come in contact with the cuticle (skin) of susceptible insects, they germinate and grow into their bodies.

The fungi multiply rapidly inside the insect and spread throughout the insect body causing death due to tissue destruction and by secretion of toxins inside the body of the insect.
 

 
The fungi emerge out the infected insect for sporulation and these spores are disseminated in the air which provide as an incoulum for infection of other insects.

Infected insect stop feeding thereby reducing further crop damage. As a result of these effects, Larvocel spary limits pest incidence in any crop below the economic threshold level once the organism gets established in the ecosystem.

Regular spraying of Larvocel ensures a protective coating of these beneficial fungi on the surface of leaves and stems and the invasion of the pests is effectively arrested.

Grapes, Guava, Sapota, Citrus, Mango, Pomegranate, Custard Apple, Banana, Apple, Coconut etc.

Cotton, Paddy, Sorghum, Sunflower, Groundnut, Potato, Mustard, Cumin etc.

Tomato, Chilly, Brinjal, Onion, Lady’s Finger etc.

Plantation crops

Cardamom, Tea, Coffee, Floriculture, Home Gardening, Medicinal Plants etc.
  Method of application

Mix the required amount of LARVOCEL with water and stir well to form a uniform suspension.

Spray immediately after preparation. Spraying should be done during late afternoon or early morning.

Thorough converge of both sides of leaf surfaces is a must to get excellent results. For speedy kill, higher dosage may be applied. Use natural wetting agent for better results.
 
  Compatibility
LARVOCEL is compatible with most bio-pesticides and conventional insecticides. It should not be mixed with any chemical fungicides. Avoid chemical fungicide spray 3-5 days before or after the use of LARVOCEL
 
  Dosage

5-10gm per liter or 1-1.5kg in 200-300 liters of water per acre spray.
 
  Storage
Keep in dry and cool place. Do not expose to direct sunlight or heat.

LARVOCEL is available in 1kg and 250gms E-fluted Carton pack to ensure better product quality and shelf life.
